PROVENGE (pronounced PROH-venge) is a breakthrough treatment option for asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic metastatic castrate resistant (hormone refractory) advanced prostate cancer.

Your immune system is made up of immune cells found in your blood and these cells work as your body’s natural defense against all types of illness, including prostate cancer. PROVENGE is designed to use your immune system to fight prostate cancer.

Since PROVENGE is an immunotherapy, each dose is made just for you. As determined by your Doctor your personalized dose of PROVENGE consists of your own immune cells that have been trained to seek and attack prostate cancer cells. By stimulating the natural ability of immune cells already in your blood, PROVENGE may help you live longer.

PROVENGE is indicated for metastatic castrate resistant (hormone refractory) prostate cancer.

PROVENGE is asymptomatic or minimally symptomatic with no moderate to severe prostate cancer related pain, and there is no use of narcotics for cancer related pain.

PROVENGE may be used in patients who:
• have not had chemotherapy in the last 3 months
• have not had systemic corticosteroids within 28 days

Certain labs and x-rays are needed to determine id you are a candidate for this treatment.
